On May 15, the historic building of the Polish Writers’ Association (Stowarzyszenie Pisarzy Polskich Oddział Kraków) hosted an atmospheric literary evening featuring Ukrainian writer Taisiia Nakonechna. The meeting was moderated by Mila Radchenko.

During the event, guests had the opportunity to attend author readings, join a warm conversation about the “behind-the-scenes” writing life, and discover two diverse publications by the author: a collection of short prose titled To See Paris (Parasolia Publishing) and a poetry collection Kerygma (The Old Lion Publishing House).

Taisiia Nakonechna’s language can be simultaneously tender and sharp, intimate and universal:

• “To See Paris” is an attempt to open the door to the lives of Ukrainian emigrants. Although most of the characters are fictional, the majority of the events are real. Perhaps that is why, while reading these stories, you can easily recognize your friends, acquaintances, or yourself in them.
• The collection “Kerygma” is a kind of creative sermon, testimony, and good news. It is thoroughly permeated with meanings and values that are important to the author as an individual, a woman, and a believer. The concept of the collection, its title Kerygma, as well as the titles of its subsections, are subtle hints and quite obvious allusions to the Holy Scripture, reinterpreted biblical stories, and messages.
