Taisiia Nakonechna Presented a New Book at the Bologna Children's Book Fair

The Bologna Children’s Book Fair is the heart of global children’s publishing. Every year in April, the large pavilions of Bologna, Italy, transform into the main platform where publishers, authors, and literary agents from around the world negotiate rights sales. It is exactly here, at tables among thousands of stands, that the starting point is established for future bestsellers, translated literature, and high-profile screen adaptations.

For Taisiia Nakonechna, the Bologna fair remains her absolute favorite among all book festivals. Every year, she comes here for the special atmosphere of creativity, inspiration, and large-scale co-creation.

“Two years ago, I suddenly realized clearly that a children’s book is the most important of all books. A children’s book shapes a personality, it shapes entire generations. Adults read mostly for entertainment. Children do, too. But the books we create for them always have a deeper purpose. And they work,” Taisiia say.

A Novelty at the Ukrainian Stand

This year, the Ukrainian national stand featured Taisiia Nakonechna’s new children’s book, Hanna’s Baby Project (Bring Me a Baby) – Bohdan Publishing House

With love and good humor, the writer, together with illustrator Oksana Drachkovska, answers one of the most important questions little ones ask their parents: “Where do babies come from?”

What is the book about? All of Hanna’s friends have little brothers and sisters, and she is the only child. This bothers the little girl quite a bit — and she is eager to find out exactly what her friends did to make their parents have more babies.
