This book is a mosaic I have been piecing together, shard by shard, over several years. Its texts are fleeting sketches, verbal studies, filled with emotion and sensation, rooted in the here and now.

The leitmotif of this collection is a call to love life and cherish each of its unrepeatable moments. At the same time, the book is dedicated to my friends, near and far, whose lives ended suddenly and tragically, for different reasons, over the past few years. Their lives, and their untimely deaths, made me long for change, radically reshape my relationship with the world around me, and use every chance granted by God.

When I think of them all, I feel ashamed of every talent buried in the ground.
